This afternoon we went to a Dan Zanes concert. It was fun to see the mosh pit of young Dan Zanes followers. Kids go crazy for this guy, but I have to admit I was up dancing at the edge of the stage, too.
Sylvia and Zella were super bikers this morning. We biked around 24 miles round trip (maybe more?) from Rogers Park to downtown Chicago along Lakeshore Drive. They closed off Lakeshore Drive for the annual Bike the Drive. It’s amazing to actually see so many bikers along the highway. We made it round trip and stopped for lunch to celebrate on the way home.
Our friends Mark, Jerri, and Zoe are visiting Chicago for the weekend. Here are some pictures of Zoe and Sylvia meeting for the first time.
Here are some funny pictures of Sylvia from the past week. She has become a huge fan of dressing up. Lately, her ensemble requires a tutu of sort. She put herself to nap in our bed one day. Also, she is a little nudist. Here is a picture of our naked chef.
Here are a few photos of Springtime in Evanston the last week. Although we’ve had a few heavy storms, the weather has been beautiful! Don’t let the hooded winter coat in the pictures fool you. Sylvia has a hard time believing that she can actually go outside without a coat now.
Dede and Papa also helped us add about 500 pounds of soil to our raised bed and plant carrots, beets, peppers, herbs, and arugula. Not much to see yet, but here’s the garden:
Dede and Papa were up for Dede’s birthday and Mother’s Day. We had a great time playing, biking, and gardening in the unpredictable Chicago Spring weather.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there!
